‘UDA Startup Innovation 2025’, organized by Dong A University, is open to students across all disciplines. The startup projects are divided into three high-application sectors: technology, commerce – services, and healthcare. This is not only a competition but also an opportunity and a journey to create, connect, and develop innovative ideas, helping young people realize their entrepreneurial dreams.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Lê Thị Thục, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang, highly appreciated Dong A University’s contributions to scientific research and innovation, as well as the effectiveness and wide reach of the startup competition. She expressed hope that the competition would not only be a playground for students but also a bridge connecting the younger generation and students with the city’s innovation and startup ecosystem.
According to Mr. Lương Minh Sâm, Chairman of the University Council and Director of the Dong A University Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, with a management board made up of successful alumni entrepreneurs, the university’s alumni club plays an important role as a foundation for connection. It allows alumni to support, mentor, share experiences, and accompany promising startup projects, thereby motivating students to turn their ideas into reality.
He emphasized that Dong A University is effectively operating its innovation space, as well as the Innovation and Startup Support Fund and the Scientific Research Fund to support students in commercializing high-application products and developing creative startup projects.
Dr. Đỗ Trọng Tuấn, Permanent Vice Rector of Dong A University, stated that after three seasons, the university’s startup competition has become a platform for connecting and developing more than 150 student startup projects, with over 500 students participating in entrepreneurship and innovation training courses. Notably, three startup projects have been developed into real businesses, and more than 10 others are continuing to compete at regional and national startup competitions such as SV_STARTUP, SURF, and RnD to Startup, among others.
Thanks to its contributions and achievements, Dong A University was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of Da Nang People’s Committee, recognizing its outstanding performance in innovation and entrepreneurship in 2024.
At the program, the UDA Alumni Startup Support Club was also officially launched and began its first connection activities.
‘UDA Startup Innovation 2025’ runs from March 25 to June 30, featuring three rounds of competition. This year’s competition is expected to attract over 50 registered startup ideas across different fields, from which 15 promising projects will be intensively incubated and developed into real-world high-application products, helping them connect with businesses and investment funds.
