Founded in 2019 in Seoul, South Korea, AVALVE is an agri-tech startup specializing in the development of smart farming solutions powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
The company’s flagship product, the AIGRI system, utilizes image and environmental sensors to collect data, enabling remote crop monitoring, automatic adjustment of farming conditions, and cultivation guidance based on AI-driven analysis.
AVALVE’s AIGRI system helps reduce water usage by up to 90% and increases crop yields by as much as 300%, regardless of external climate conditions. This solution is especially effective for cultivating high-value crops such as ginseng, shiitake mushrooms, microgreens, and various medicinal herbs.
In 2023, AVALVE signed a partnership with Lotte Engineering & Construction to implement smart farms within residential apartment complexes, allowing residents to grow and harvest their own produce at home. That same year, the company expanded internationally through a $1.5 million agreement to supply smart farming solutions to Vietnam.
Additionally, co-founders Lee Won-jun and Park Kyu-tae were named to the Forbes “30 Under 30 Asia” list.
By participating in the startup exhibition area at the P4G Vietnam Summit 2025, AVALVE had the opportunity to present its smart farming system, AIGRI, to a wide range of organizations and partners in the sustainable agriculture sector. With support from the National Startup Support Center (NSSC), the event helped AVALVE strengthen its presence in the Vietnamese market, build strategic relationships, and explore new collaboration opportunities with stakeholders interested in AI-driven agricultural solutions.
In Vietnam, AVALVE is supporting smallholder farmers by providing access to efficient farming models for high-value crops, contributing to narrowing income gaps and promoting sustainable agricultural transformation.
