Top 10 TECHFEST Vietnam’s National Innovation Technopreneur Contest 2022 organised by National Startup Support Center of Vietnam (NSSC) and Startup Vietnam Foundation (SVF).
CyberPurify is a technology startup founded in 2020 in California, USA, by tech expert Nguyễn Hữu Bình and children’s rights activist Nguyễn Như Quỳnh. The company focuses on utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to develop online content filtering solutions, aiming to create a safer Internet environment for children and families.
With a mission to protect children from harmful online content, the team has developed two main solutions. CyberPurify Kids is a browser extension that instantly detects and blurs harmful images and videos on desktop browsers such as Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. CyberPurify Egg is an upgraded version designed specifically for children, acting as a dedicated content filter that protects any device they use, including smartphones, iPads, laptops, smart TVs, and gaming consoles like PlayStation. Egg also helps manage children’s access time to games and social media, contributing to the prevention of gaming and social media addiction.
Thanks to its innovative ideas and products, CyberPurify was one of five startups to win the “AI Accelerator Challenge 2021 (AAC 2021),” an event sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Australian Government. It also was one of six Vietnamese startups selected to participate in the finals of the VietChallenge 2022 competition in New York, USA.
