MultiGlass, a Vietnamese startup founded in 2017, is redefining assistive technology with its innovative smart glasses. Designed to enhance accessibility and safety, MultiGlass enables individuals with disabilities to interact with computers using eye and head movements, while also offering driver drowsiness detection for road safety. By integrating artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and iris recognition technology, MultiGlass provides intuitive, hands-free solutions that improve daily life and work efficiency.
MultiGlass was initially developed to assist people with disabilities in overcoming challenges related to digital accessibility. Traditional input devices, such as keyboards and mice, can be difficult or impossible for individuals with physical impairments to use. MultiGlass addresses this issue by enabling users to control computers through simple eye blinks and head movements. A left-eye blink functions as a left-click, a right-eye blink triggers a right-click, and head movements control the cursor, providing an intuitive and seamless computing experience.
Beyond accessibility, MultiGlass also contributes to road safety with its driver drowsiness detection system. By continuously tracking a driver’s eye patterns and fatigue levels, the glasses can detect early signs of drowsiness and issue real-time alerts to prevent accidents. This solution is particularly valuable for long-haul truck drivers, ride-hailing operators, and logistics companies looking to improve safety standards.
MultiGlass’s groundbreaking innovation has received widespread recognition in the startup ecosystem. The startup was honored to receive the first prize at the TECHFEST 2019 competition.
With the vision “No one is left behind”, MultiGlass aims to expand its reach, improving the lives of people with disabilities while making roads safer for millions. By leveraging technology to empower individuals and communities, MultiGlass is shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future.
