PVA PRO is a pioneering Vietnamese startup specializing in the development of eco-friendly, water-soluble biopolymers. Established in 2021, the company has introduced AquaFlex, Vietnam’s first 100% eco-friendly polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-based water-soluble biopolymer, aiming to revolutionize sustainable packaging solutions.
AquaFlex is designed to address the global plastic waste crisis by offering a material that is water-soluble, biodegradable, compostable, recyclable, water-safe, and even edible by wildlife. Unlike traditional plastics that can persist in the environment for centuries, AquaFlex dissolves in warm water within 30 to 60 minutes, leaving no harmful residues or microplastics. This innovation provides a viable alternative to conventional plastics, particularly in packaging applications, thereby reducing environmental pollution.
In recognition of its groundbreaking technology, PVA PRO has achieved significant milestones. In August 2023, the company secured nearly $1 million in funding from the ITI Fund in the seed round. Additionally, PVA PRO was honored among the TOP 10 TECHFEST Vietnam’s National Technopreneur Contest 2022 and received the “Sustainable Initiative Award for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises” at the Sustainable Business Awards 2022, organized by the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham).
