Top 10 TECHFEST Vietnam’s National Innovation Technopreneur Contest 2019 organised by National Startup Support Center of Vietnam (NSSC).
Founded in 2019 by CEO Dương Minh Hùng under Đại Hùng Development and Investment Co., Ltd., Shipway was created to optimize freight transportation by effectively connecting shippers and truck owners through a mobile application. The platform aims to address the inefficiencies of traditional transport services by streamlining the process and reducing logistical challenges.
Vietnam has over 1 million trucks, yet 70% of them return empty after deliveries, and hundreds of thousands have no cargo to transport. Meanwhile, 700,000 businesses, traders, and merchants struggle to find reliable transport services. This imbalance has led to high transportation costs and inefficiencies, while existing logistics platforms only address a small portion of the problem. Shipway solves this issue by enabling shippers to find available trucks within just 3–6 minutes with a few simple steps. The app automates and optimizes the truck-matching process, allowing shippers to take full control of their logistics.
Throughout its development journey, Shipway has participated in the Sông Hàn Incubator, where it gained valuable startup experience and was recognized as an outstanding member of the accelerator program. The company has also achieved significant milestones in regional and national competitions, winning Second Prize at Techfest Central and Highlands 2019, Second Prize at Get in the Ring 2019, and securing a spot in the Top 10 of the TECHFEST Vietnam’s National Innovation Technopreneur Contest in 2019. Shipway has successfully raised funding in two investment rounds—one angel investment from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and another from an individual angel investor.
With continuous innovation and commitment, Shipway is enhancing efficiency and convenience in Vietnam’s freight transportation sector, paving the way for a smarter and more cost-effective logistics ecosystem.
