On the morning of May 31, the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City, in coordination with Quest Ventures, organized the international conference “Danang Venture and Angel Summit 2024” (DAVAS 2024) with the theme “Reaching Creative Heights – Connecting Globally” and the message “Da Nang – City of Innovation.”
DAVAS 2024 aims to connect elements within the ecosystem, laying the groundwork to position Da Nang as an attractive destination for investors and innovative startups seeking domestic and international funding. It also gradually builds and forms a community of angel investors and venture capital funds in Da Nang. At the same time, it supports innovative startups in accessing investors, venture funds, and leading experts in the field of innovation both domestically and internationally.
This is the first time the event is organized in Da Nang, bringing together more than 10 major investment funds from Vietnam and abroad such as: Quest Ventures, Do Ventures, TheVentures, TRIVE Singapore, etc.; about 20 startup support organizations such as Swiss EP, Kilsa Global, KisStartup, etc.; and about 30 innovative startups/projects from Vietnam and other countries seeking investment, including 03 projects from Singapore, 01 from Canada, 07 from Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City, and 19 from Da Nang. In addition, the event received strong support from universities, educational institutions, and the startup and innovation business community.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Duong Hoang Van Ban – Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City – expressed hope that in the near future, Da Nang’s startup ecosystem would grow strongly, becoming a destination that attracts and connects innovation startup resources and enterprises from both Vietnam and the world to cooperate, invest, and develop. Da Nang City is committed to always accompanying businesses, placing enterprises at the center of the entire innovation startup ecosystem to foster development.
Speaking at the program, Mr. James Tan – Managing Partner of Quest Ventures – shared that the fund will increase investment in startups and innovative projects in Da Nang in the near future.
At the conference, the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City signed a cooperation agreement with KILSA Global – an organization that promotes business and investment in the Asia region, supporting startup acceleration. Through discussions, the two parties agreed on cooperation content focusing on developing support programs, training courses, financial assistance, and startup events to facilitate and encourage innovative startup projects from Da Nang to develop markets in Singapore and the region through KILSA’s network.
DAVAS 2024 takes place over two days, May 31 and June 1, with main activities such as:

Pitching sessions for about 30 innovative startups/projects before venture funds and angel investors
