UNIVERSITY OF DA NANG – UNIVERSITY OF PEDAGOGY LAUNCHES THE “STUDENT STARTUP – LEADING THE FUTURE 2025” COMPETITION

On March 15, 2025, the University of Education – University of Danang organized a conference on “Guiding Innovative Startup Activities for the 2025–2030 Period,” combined with the launch of the competition “Student Startup – Paving the Way to the Future 2025,” with a total sponsorship value for the competition reaching nearly 400 million VND. This is a significant event, marking the school’s transformation in renewing its training programs and developing innovative startups within the higher education environment, while also opening up opportunities for young people to showcase their talents, develop ideas, creativity, and passion for entrepreneurship.

The event also aims to provide students with practical knowledge, experiences from experts, and updates on trends in innovative startups.

Speaking at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu – Vice President of the University stated: “In the context of globalization and the digital age, the University of Education – University of Danang is not only a traditional educational institution but is gradually becoming an innovative university, fostering connections between education, research, business, and the community.”

He emphasized that, in the 2025–2030 period, the university will continue to promote startup activities and innovations for students.

With its established strengths, The University of Education – The University of Danang has been implementing numerous programs, projects, and activities to support entrepreneurship. These efforts aim to enable students to realize their ideas, apply knowledge to practice, and connect with businesses and investors. During the 2025–2030 period, the university will focus on key strategic directions to further strengthen innovation and startup activities.

Ms. Lê Thị Thúy, representative of the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City, shared: “Da Nang City has continuously improved its startup ecosystem with the emergence of support organizations, investment funds, and innovative enterprises. At the same time, specific mechanisms and policies have been issued to promote scientific research, innovation, and startup project support.” Additionally, Ms. Thúy highly appreciated the university’s positive contributions to scientific research, entrepreneurship, and innovation, as well as the practical value of its scientific research projects. She also expressed strong confidence that the university’s research, startup, and innovation activities will continue to thrive, achieving many accomplishments and contributing to the city’s economic and social development.

The conference focused on defining the strategic directions for implementing innovative startup activities at the University of Education during the 2025–2030 period. Moreover, through the panel discussion “The Value of Entrepreneurship – Perspectives from Businesses and Investors”, students had the opportunity to hear from experts, researchers, and representatives of startup organizations who shared knowledge, experiences, and emerging trends in entrepreneurship and innovation.

Notably, to encourage creativity and entrepreneurial spirit among students, during the event, The University of Education – The University of Danang officially launched the competition “Student Entrepreneurship – Leading the Future 2025”. This is an annual activity hosted by the university that attracts a large number of student participants. The competition serves not only as a platform for students to develop creative thinking but also as a bridge to connect them with businesses, investors, and startup incubators, paving the way for potential projects to become reality. Outstanding projects may receive support to further develop, refine their business models, and be implemented in real life. The total value of sponsorship for the competition reaches over VND 384 million, including cash, in-kind contributions, and training packages.

This year, participating projects focus on addressing urgent social issues, encouraging the application of advanced technologies to create breakthrough solutions. Key areas of interest include industry, renewable energy, agriculture – forestry – fisheries, education, tourism, services, healthcare, food safety, as well as modern technologies such as AI, blockchain, and smart cities.

As part of the event, The University of Education signed cooperation agreements (MOUs) with strategic partners: the Danang Center for Startup and Innovation Support and Medoo Vietnam Technology & Education Co., Ltd. This partnership represents an opportunity for the parties to build long-term, sustainable, and high-potential collaboration programs.

This event was not only a platform for students to challenge themselves, but also an important launching point to help them become more confident on their journey to turn entrepreneurial dreams into reality.
