As one of the flagship programs within the TECHFEST Vietnam 2024 series, the High-Level Policy Dialogue on Startups under the theme “From Local to Global” will address critical challenges and opportunities faced by provinces and cities in building local startup ecosystems.

This policy dialogue seeks to explore solutions to foster breakthrough innovation, encourage both domestic and international resource linkages, and promote the nationwide development of local startup support centers.

🎯 Objectives

• Identify pressing issues and highlight opportunities for developing local startup ecosystems.

• Facilitate knowledge exchange between Vietnamese provinces and successful international models (notably South Korea), especially in building dynamic innovation hubs and technology parks.

• Propose strategic mechanisms for coordinating resources across national, regional, and international levels.

This high-level forum will bring together:

• Senior leaders from central and local government agencies

• Representatives of international local authorities

• National and international startup support centers

• Global development organizations and academic institutions

• Incubators, venture capital funds, and startup investors

• Technology experts and corporate leaders from the startup community

🔍 Two Main Discussion Sessions

Session 1: Leveraging Local Strengths to Build Innovation-Driven Startup Ecosystems

This session will feature experience sharing between Vietnamese and Korean localities that have successfully developed innovation economies through creative hubs and technology parks. The discussion will offer valuable insights for Vietnamese local startup support centers to adopt adaptable models for national impact.

Session 2: Connecting Resources and Developing a National Network of Startup Support Centers

This session will explore how the National Startup Support Center can serve as a connector and allocator of resources, tailored to regional advantages. Simultaneously, local centers will be encouraged to ensure the quality and quantity of startup projects, contributing to an effective and interconnected innovation ecosystem.
